Help Us Celebrate Sarah Peter's Birthday On May 10, 2012 dozens will gather to celebrate the birthday of Moore's founder Sarah Peter. Peter was born May 10, 1800 and founded Moore as the Philadelphia School of Design for Women in 1848. Fashion Show Tickets Still Available Get your tickets for the Spring Fashion Show now before they sell out! Seating is limited. Tickets will not be sold at the door and should be purchased through The Art Shop at Moore (215.965.8586). You can also pre-order a DVD of the Fashion Show for $25 each. Weekend & Commencement Details/FAQ This weekend will be full of events. On Saturday, join us for the Closing Reception of the BFA Senior Show from 1 to 3 pm and the Fashion Show at 8 pm. Then on Sunday, family and friends will gather for Commencement at 2 pm. In addition to honoring this year’s graduating class, the first winner of the Marian Locks award will also be announced that day. Event Honors Happy Fernandez On Monday, May 7, about 300 guests attended a reception honoring the presidency of Dr. Happy Craven Fernandez. Speakers included Mayor Michael Nutter, Art Block, Fran Graham ’66, Marah Carpenter ’12, Moe Brooker, Heather Bryson ’92, and Carole Haas Gravagno. Gallery Reception on May 18 The Galleries at Moore invite you to the opening of three new exhibitions with a reception on Friday May 18 from 5:30 to 8 pm. The exhibitions – All Together Now, Lanny Sommese: Off the Wall | On the Wall, and Kate Stewart and Ward Davenny: Civil Dusk – will be on view through July 28, July 31 and August 18, respectively.
