|Inaugural Marian Locks Award Announced
The first Marian Locks Senior Award was presented to Christine Ferri, an interior design major, at Moore’s 164th commencement on Sunday, May 13. The Locks Family Foundation has given $100,000 to Moore to endow the $4,000 award for a graduating senior as she launches her career.

|Spring Fashion Show 2012 Sparkles
On May 12, Moore fashion design seniors presented their collections at the Spring Fashion Show 2012 in a tent in Aviator Park. The fashion show, Breaking Away, featured innovative collections and designs by seniors, junior and sophomore students of Moore’s acclaimed fashion design department.

|Highlights of 2012 Commencement
Moore's 164th commencement was held on Sunday, May 13 under a large tent in Aviator Park. This year, 98 undergraduates received their Bachelor’s degrees in Art Education, Art History, Curatorial Studies, Fashion Studies, Fine Arts 2D, Fine Arts 3D, Graphic Design, Illustration, Interior Design, Photography & Digital Arts and Textile Design.

MEET THIS YEAR’S VALEDICTORIAN
|New Summer Shows in The Galleries
The Galleries celebrated their exciting lineup for summer with an opening reception May 18 for three new gallery exhibitions: All Together Now, Kate Stewart and Ward Davenny: Civil Dusk and Lanny Sommese: Off the Wall | On the Wall. A reception for 5 Into 1, featuring work by recent graduates from local BFA and MFA programs, will be held Saturday, June 2.

|City Year Honors Arthur R. Block
On May 17, Arthur R. Block, chair of Moore’s Board of Managers and Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Comcast Corporation, was honored with the 2012 Idealist of the Year Award at City Year Greater Philadelphia’s annual tribute dinner held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Kristina Buylova, a junior illustration major at Moore, was selected to design a mural in honor of the event.
