Moore Welcomes President Cecelia Fitzgibbon On July 16, 2012, Moore College of Art & Design welcomed Cecelia Fitzgibbon as its eighth president. Fitzgibbon, who served as director of Drexel University's Graduate Arts Administration Program since 1996, will be inaugurated at a ceremony September 12, 2012. Middle States Accreditation Reaffirmed Moore College of Art & Design is pleased to report that at its session on June 28, 2012, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education acted to reaffirm accreditation. Responding to the letter of reaccreditation, President Fitzgibbon says, "This accreditation is a reflection of the hard work and many accomplishments of the faculty and staff of this institution and a symbol of the promise of our future." The Galleries at Moore Present Gathering Voice Gathering Voice features select photographs and writing by Philadelphia schoolchildren participating in Learning Through Photography at Moore. Works created by 4th – 12th grade students are on view through November 2, 2012 in City Hall and as poster installations in twenty-one bus shelters along Market Street. Graduate Thesis Exhibitions Open August 4 Save the date! Moore's Graduate Thesis Exhibitions will be on view August 4 – September 29 in the Levy Gallery for the Arts in Philadelphia and Widener Memorial Foundation Gallery. The exhibitions feature final thesis work by candidates in Moore's graduate programs: MA in Art Education with an Emphasis is Special Populations, MFA in Interior Design and MFA in Studio Art. Moore Faculty Member Demonstrates iPad Apps for Artists On July 17, Jeff Dion, adjunct faculty of foundation, demonstrated to Moore youth program students how to use Apple® iPad® apps to create artwork.
