Welcome New and Returning Students
and Faculty

Moore welcomes all new and returning students and faculty for the 2012 spring semester! Student orientation was held January 13 – 16. About 25 new students enjoyed a variety of events. The weekend culminated with the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. Students were cleaning and painting at the Norris Square Neighborhood Project, a bilingual learning center. Undergraduate and graduate classes in Interior Design and Studio art begin this week. View the Academic Calendar


While You Were Away!

While You Were Away
Several projects were begun or completed across campus during Winter Break. A dynamic new installation on the second floor of Wilson Hall was completed outside the Offices of Continuing Education and Graduate Studies – part of an ongoing campuswide visual branding project. Wilson Hall got a fresh coat of paint and in Fox Commons you’ll find new sofas. Construction is also underway on a new spray booth on the sixth floor of Sarah Peter Hall.

2012 Visionary Woman Awardees Named

2012 Visionary Woman Awardees Named
The 2012 Visionary Woman Awards will honor two women who have made significant contributions to the arts: interior designer and entrepreneur Victoria Hagan (right), and graphic designer, writer, curator, and critic Ellen Lupton. The awards gala will be Thursday, October 18, 2012. The Elizabeth Greenfield Zeidman lecture featuring the two honorees will be held earlier that day.

Moore Named Finalist in 2012 Knight Arts Challenge

Moore Named Finalist in 2012 Knight Arts Challenge
Moore is a finalist in the 2012 Knight Arts Challenge Philadelphia for a proposal to establish an urban drive-in movie theater on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. In October, The Galleries at Moore submitted the idea to introduce the work of local visual artists and filmmakers to a wider audience by establishing the urban drive-in theater. Challenge winners will be announced this spring.

SAGE Food Art Competition: The Art of Chocolate

SAGE Food Art Competition: The Art of Chocolate
The first annual SAGE Food Art Competition, The Art of Chocolate, will be on display in the Dining Hall January 19 - February 6, 2012. The purpose of the competition is to combine SAGE's passion for food with Moore studentsʼ passion for art. Stop by and check out some of the great work from our sophomore students. Entries will be judged and the winners announced by January 30.
