Presidential Search Update

Presidential Search Update
Since June 2011, following the announcement of President Fernandez’ intent to resign in May 2012, the Presidential Search Committee has been deeply involved with the search. Having concluded the nomination process and review of candidates, the 14-member Committee will spend this month and next conducting interviews and identifying finalists to present to the Board. The Board looks forward to making an announcement this spring.

Four New Gallery Exhibitions Open
The opening reception of four new exhibitions is this Friday, January 27, 5:30 – 8 pm in all the galleries. The exhibitions include Doing Time|Depth of Surface (left); A Circumstantial Assembly; Shizuko Kimura: The Poetics of Form; and Materiality: Annual Alumnae Exhibition. Moore Partners with TerraCycle on College-wide Green Event

Moore Partners with TerraCycle on
College-wide Green Event

Moore is partnering with TerraCycle, one of the fastest growing green companies in the world, on a campus-wide event on April 21, in time for Earth Day. TerraCycle converts trash into a wide variety of products and materials. The company donated raw materials for students to repurpose in class for their own projects. A separate design competition will be held for students not involved in class projects who want to use the materials to create art or functional design pieces.

The Galleries Announce New network Program

The Galleries Announce New network Program
This February the Galleries are launching network, a new series of networking events created to bring together emerging designers and business and arts professionals. The series kicks off on Friday, February 17, 6 – 8 pm, with network: Launch into Fashion, featuring Elissa Bloom, executive director of the Philadelphia Fashion Incubator at Macy’s and Jay McCarroll, Philadelphia-based designer and winner of Project Runway.

Students Volunteer With Back on My Feet

Students Volunteer with Back on My Feet
A group of Moore students and student services staff are working with Back on My Feet, an organization that promotes self-sufficiency of those experiencing homelessness by engaging them in running as a means to build confidence and self-esteem. This week, the students will begin running each Wednesday morning with residents of the Sheila Dennis House, an all-female homeless shelter in Philadelphia. Read More About Back on My Feet
